i really do enjoy reading my old livejournal posts though, goddamn. it's so whack to worry about the future, but i'm glad i hinted in tidbits where i wanted to be now, then. in my heart i knew i'd be in CT for at least a couple more years after graduation, even if it didn't always seem that way. how i feel in this moment, is that it may always be normal for me to want to leave someplace after living there for a couple of years. contrary to what is typically virgo-esque: routine bores the shit out of me. YET to a certain extent is so fucking comforting. i like spontaneity, but who doesn't anyway? the same goes for stability. what i really want to know: WHY DO 'S'-WORDS OWN SO HARD?!?!!?!? quite possibly the best letter ever.

my life for the next 2 weeks is going to be very stressful. i'm feeling very scared and , actually a lot of disbelief THAT: i'm moving out, for real. my room will be gone.
and
it's sad

my parents don't support this because it's "too far away from home." doesn't make anything easier.

i have a lot of things to be thankful for, such as amazing friends helping me out in so many ways and a boyfriend who cares even though i never get t o see him cause of the lame summer camp he works at.

but, seriously, fuck.

i could never settle out of new england.

traveling is wonderful, though.

i love my life. the next few days are going to be great <3

i am going to cry. [

so graduation is basically one month away. what the fuck? i never thought i'd be so upset about this, considering at the beginning of the Spring semester i was super bummed out about being here. some things i was looking at negatively turned out for the better, and i am thankful for the people who have become a more prominent part of my life this semester. the root of anxiety that i am feeling now is stemming from this one paper that i have to do, the rest of the work that needs to be done isn't bothering me at all--well, the april 26th deadline for so many assignments is a major stress factor as well...but i know i can do it, and i know it'll get done.

the poetry reading this past weekend was wonderful! my mom read some of her stuff at the end :D my friends were there for support, and dustin even got to go with his parents who were visiting from iowa! it was lovely <33

maybe sometime i'll post my favorite poem that got published in the journal.. but i need to keep working on this paper! no more procrastination via livejournal kthx.

one of the goals of the creative writing capstone class is to try and get your work published.

well, i did :)
in the chopper poetry journal based out of new london, CT.

so there is a premier/reading weekend mid-april. i am going to the friday date: april 13th at city perk in norwich from 6-8pm.

i want people to go.

this doesn't sound like i'm excited, but i am. i'm just tired.

nap!

february is typically the bane of my existance, however there is a lot to look forward to and it actually makes the days not seem as long.

job situation: 90% (umm may 21st) same deal.

spring break?? massachusetts.
week after spring break? costa rica!@#$%^!@#$%^&%$#@!

dr. den ouden invited me to help him set up a study abroad program that uha students would go on next year. all i have to pay for is airfare; he is covering all other expenses. i will be in costa rica fro a week working on rainforest preservation and micro-credit projects for women. my life seriously rulzzz.

every thursday-saturday i've been in the company of amazing friends and good (bad) beerz. hartford really bums me out, but i'm surrounded by great people who make it more than worth-while. oddly enough, earlier i found myself a little bit sad that there's only 10 weeks left. wtffffff

i love it when i have enough time to cook an excellent dinner.

time to drink pbr and do homework that was due last night lolzasfdgh8

fucking loans. [

]
[ music | van morrison ]

silly me to think interest would also be deferred while i'm away in eastern europe for 2 years with the peace corps, a government organization. you'd think they'd help out more with deferrment for those who want to join fairly immediately after college. my parents were helping me out by making interest payments monthly, and the last payment toward interest was one i actually made in june of 2006 for $700. guess how much interest has accrued toward my loans since then? $1,955.60. i'm not fucking kidding. basically, by the time i fucking graduate, i will have around $50,000 in debt (a little less). if it increased that much in such a short amount of time, i don't even want to know what 2 years would do.

i want to make a difference, but i don't want to rake up $20,000+ more in interest on my college loans. all i can think about is den ouden talking about how debt keeps a stronghold over american citizens, preventing their freedom and dignity. i know there are different magnitudes to this, but it's fucking true when it comes down to it. FUCK.

it also sucks that president bush fucked everyone graduating 2007 - on in the ass by not letting us consolidate our loans. oh yea, i had one last opportunity to consolidate--if i started paying them back right after taking that step (ha ha). HOW ABOUT LOCKING IN TO ONE INTEREST RATE!?!?11 SORRY, YOU CAN'T!~!`1

fucking. FUCK. financial obligations drive me nuts. you really have no idea how bad it eats me up inside to think about my loans and interest building up on them. i can 99% guarantee you i will begin paying off my loans before the 6-month grace period is up, that's how terrible it is. i think it's because my mother beat it into my brain to "ALWAYS PAY BILLS OFF IN FULL IF YOU CAN, PAY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN TOWARD EACH ONE !!!" truly horrifying, but good in the long-run. makes me glad i've taken the safe route throughout college; independence hasn't begun for any of us yet.

it's like when i see people who have never left their town, still living at home. they haven't changed at all, unless if they've gotten worse. they haven't grown at all. taking the college step, i feel like everyone grows and changes in some way (for better or for worse) and that it IS a genuine step towards independence--still, not quite there. it will be refreshing to graduate and refreshing to begin job-hunting in march/apartment-hunting in april. i'm ready. the majority of other people i talk to are scared. i'm not sure what that means, really, but i know may 20th will be a huge day of celebration.

4 months left.
